Hook Butter, Adze Woodcraft

Crochet is an art form, your tools should reflect that. If properly cared for this hook will get better with use, and it will last a lifetime.

 Hook Care:

  1. Use a damp cloth to clean your hook, immediately dry the hook off. Never immerse your tool in the water.
  2. At least once per month rub a small amount of crochet butter onto your hook.  A simple mix of beeswax and walnut oil.  (If you have nut allergies use mineral oil.)
  3. Buff to a shine with a lint-free cloth or an old t-shirt

Hook Storage:  Keep your hook wrapped in a tissue or in a special container to keep it from bumping into other hooks, and getting scratched.  Try not to drop your hook, and keep it away from prolonged sun exposure. Don't immerse it in water or use it as a pry bar :-)

*I use a little bit of crochet butter every time I use the hook, this may be overkill.
